Eighteen years ago, a group of parents gathered to explore ideas for creating a graduation party for their seniors. The parents were very proud of their students and their accomplishments, and wanted a way to give them a party on graduation night, in a safe, drug and alcohol free atmosphere, so they could celebrate. After much discussion, the group decided they wanted an event:
To keep the graduating seniors involved and busy, a site was rented, a theme developed and many parent volunteers planned and decorated. Another group of parents worked hard to secure monetary donations to pay for the rental of the facility as well as other things. Another group of parents set out asking local business for donations of goods and services to give to the graduates as prizes. This event was called the Post Graduation Party or PGP.
